I was watching CNN and they were talking about the dresses Michelle Obama and her daughters Malia and Sasha wear and how much they cost. It was a total of $160 dollars for the two dresses Sasha and Malia were wearing on the day of their father's victory speech at Chicago's Grant park. I was thinking that if Obamas are the leaders of the middleclass and the poor people of America, shouldn't they show that in their own life? In Chicago, Obama daughters go to a private school. Jimmy Carter's daughter Amy went to the DC public school - probably the only child of a US president who went to a public school in DC. The way I see it very few people in this world have the strength to practice the things they preach. I would really like to see Michelle Obama shopping at Walmart or Marshalls for clothes.

I think Michelle Obama picked excellent projects or focal points for her role as First Lady. Bringing attention to the military families is a very good thing. Work life balance is also worthy. I am happy her mother is going to the White House with them as it will give the children more balance in their lives, too.

I agree with the both of you I am very excited as well to see what Michelle Obama has in store for the women in our country, she is certainly a great leader, I am so proud of her and can't wait for her to get in the White House, I know she will fight to open many doors for us and our children.

I agree with your view that Michelle Obama is exemplary and will be a fascinating first lady. However, don't forget her mother, without whom she would have a bit more difficulty balancing all the demands on her time. Malia and Sasha's grandmother is coming with them to the White House!
