AAUW Dialog bloggers and readers know how important it is to harness the power of women on the Internet to promote women’s issues. After all, as AAUW members and supporters, you’ve been on the front lines of this forum, discussing issues important to you, sharing your thoughts and ideas, and taking action.
That’s why we’re happy to share the news with you that AAUW is a lead organization on Feminism 2.0, a joint effort to bring together the leadership of major women’s advocacy organizations and online women’s communities. We hope this collaboration will further the connection between organizations like AAUW — with their experience, knowledge, online advocacy tools, and formidable real-world grassroots networks — and the powerful and growing communities of women online.
The brand-new Fem 2.0 website launched this week — check it out and let us know what you think! Join in on the discussions with the heads of women’s organizations. Add your comments to a blog post, post your own blog, or include the link for the site on other sites that you frequent. The Fem 2.0 project will culminate with a conference in February, so if you’re in the D.C. area, we encourage you to join us there, too.
As we know, effective advocacy isn’t just about organizations lending their name to an issue or speaking up on Capitol Hill, it’s about all citizens concerned with equality being knowledgeable and aware of the current status of important issues and taking action on those issues. That’s why AAUW is helping to lead the efforts of Feminism 2.0 to bring together the women’s community to create and mobilize passionate advocates for women and girls. And we hope you, our faithful supporters and online activists, will join us in this effort.

It is exciting to find new activities every time I go on the AAUW website. Keep up the great work!
