This week, at a hearing convened by the Senate HELP Committee’s Subcommittee on Children and Families, the Department of Labor announced the administration’s strong support of the Healthy Families Act. AAUW has been working hard to see this bill passed. In light of the H1N1 flu pandemic, we know that paid sick days are a key component of reducing the spread of illness, and the time to pass federal legislation guaranteeing paid sick days for workers is now.
